Choose from different profiles, finishes and colours depending on where your cladding will be installed. Our Interior Composite Cladding is designed with decorative spaces in mind, while our Exterior Composite Cladding provides a durable finish for external walls and garden projects.

Types Of Composite Cladding We Offer

Choosing the right composite cladding starts with where you intend to use it. Our collection covers interior design projects and exterior applications, with different profiles and installation methods available across the ranges.

Decor Clad is our Scandinavian-inspired internal cladding. Its distinctive four-rib profile can be fitted to walls and ceilings, making it suitable for changing the appearance of living spaces and commercial interiors. Decor Clad is supplied in 7m lengths and can be cut to suit the area being covered.

Although we recommend Decor Clad for internal use, it can also be used in some sheltered exterior areas where it is kept out of direct sunlight. An outdoor bar is one example. For walls that will be exposed to the elements, choose a product designed specifically for exterior installation instead.

Our exterior collection includes Classic Composite Exterior Cladding and Castellated Exterior Cladding. Both are supplied in 3m lengths. Classic Exterior Cladding offers a more traditional cladding appearance, while the castellated range uses an interlocking four-rib profile for a more contemporary finish.

There is plenty of choice when it comes to colour too. Depending on the range, exterior options include Black, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Sand Wash, Mocha and Stone. Our wider collection also includes finishes such as French Oak, giving you scope to choose cladding around the style of the space rather than settling for one standard appearance.

        Benefits Of Choosing Composite Cladding

        • Built For Outdoor Weather

Our exterior boards are designed to withstand outdoor weather and are UV stabilised. Unlike timber, they do not rot or shrink, making them well suited to cladding that stays exposed all year.

        • Less Ongoing Maintenance

Composite cladding does not require the routine painting associated with many traditional timber finishes, so there is less ongoing work required to maintain its appearance.

        • Choice Of Profiles

A classic profile sits comfortably across many exterior styles, castellated panels introduce deeper lines and a more contemporary look, and Decor Clad provides a distinct four-rib finish inside.

        • Covers Existing Surfaces

Composite cladding can cover an existing surface, creating a new visible finish without relying on repeated decorating to change the look of the area.

Composite cladding is a useful choice for projects where appearance needs to be balanced with practical day-to-day maintenance. For exterior applications, Modern Garden’s composite cladding is lightweight and designed for outdoor use. For interior projects, our decorative products give you the appearance and texture of cladding without the regular painting required by many traditional wall finishes.

        Applications For Composite Cladding

The intended location should always guide your choice of composite cladding. Interior and exterior boards have different applications, so check the individual product before ordering.

        Inside The Home

Decorative cladding can be used across walls and ceilings to change the appearance of a room or cover an existing surface. It can work as a feature across a larger wall or in a smaller area where you want to introduce texture and a wood-inspired finish. Decor Clad can be fitted horizontally or vertically, and changing the direction of the boards can make a noticeable difference to how the cladding works with the proportions of the room.

        Outside

Our dedicated exterior composite cladding is designed for external use. It can be used to change the appearance of exterior walls and other suitable outdoor surfaces, with Classic and Castellated options available depending on the style you prefer.

        Covering Uneven Surfaces

Composite wall cladding can provide a useful finish where an existing surface is uneven or unattractive. The suitability of the product still needs to be considered carefully, particularly outdoors.

        Choosing The Right Range

Decorative internal cladding should not automatically be treated as a substitute for a dedicated exterior board. If your project is specifically outside, our Exterior Composite Cladding collection provides more information about the ranges designed for those conditions.

How To Maintain & Clean Your Composite Cladding

Composite cladding is designed to be low maintenance, although it will still need occasional cleaning as dirt and everyday marks build up.

        Where It Is Installed

The amount of cleaning required depends on the location. Internal wall panels face different conditions from exterior cladding exposed to the garden and changing weather.

        Regular Cleaning

Regular attention to visible dirt will help keep the surface looking its best. Take the finish and location into account before using cleaning products or equipment, and avoid assuming a product suitable for another garden material is appropriate for cladding.

        No Routine Painting

There is no need to routinely paint composite cladding to maintain its original finish, which is particularly useful across larger areas where repainting timber could become an ongoing job.

Installation varies between our cladding ranges. Depending on the product, boards can use interlocking panels and clips or adhesive. The boards are supplied in stock lengths and can be cut to size for installation.

Check the requirements for the particular cladding you are buying before starting work. If you are unsure which range or installation method suits your project, contact us before ordering.

        FAQs

What Are The Key Benefits Of Composite Cladding?

Composite cladding provides a durable, low-maintenance way to change the appearance of suitable interior or exterior surfaces. Modern Garden offers different products for different settings, including decorative internal cladding and dedicated exterior boards. Our exterior composite boards are designed for outdoor weather, are UV stabilised and do not rot or shrink.

Can Composite Cladding Be Used Both Inside And Outside?

Yes, but you need to choose the correct range for the location. Modern Garden offers Interior Composite Cladding for decorative interior projects alongside dedicated exterior cladding designed for outdoor conditions.

Decor Clad is recommended for internal use. It can be used in some exterior areas when kept out of direct sunlight, but dedicated exterior composite cladding is the appropriate range to consider for exposed external applications.

Do I Need To Paint Composite Cladding?

Composite cladding does not need routine painting to maintain its original finish. The boards are supplied with their finished appearance already in place, with different colours and profiles available depending on the range.

What Finishes And Colours Are Available?

The choice varies across Modern Garden’s composite cladding ranges. Our exterior collection includes Classic and Castellated profiles, with colours including Black, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Sand Wash, Mocha and Stone depending on the product. Other finishes within the wider cladding collection include French Oak.

You can also browse our Grey Composite Cladding and Black Composite Cladding collections if you already have a particular colour in mind.

What Is The Difference Between Decor Clad And The Exterior Cladding Ranges?

Decor Clad is a decorative internal cladding product with a Scandinavian-inspired four-rib profile. It is supplied in 7m lengths and is recommended primarily for interior walls and ceilings.

Our Composite Exterior Cladding and Castellated Exterior Cladding ranges are supplied in 3m lengths and are designed for exterior applications. Choosing between them therefore depends first on where the boards will be fitted, followed by the profile and colour you prefer.

What Are Composite Cladding Boards Made From?

Modern Garden’s exterior composite cladding is made using composite materials that include recycled wood fibres and recycled plastic. This combination provides an alternative to traditional timber cladding for exterior projects.

How Easy Is Composite Cladding To Install?

The installation method depends on the range. Modern Garden cladding can use interlocking panels and clips or adhesive, so check the requirements of the individual product rather than following one installation method across every type of cladding.

Boards are supplied in stock lengths and can be cut to suit the area being covered.

Are Free Composite Cladding Samples Available?

Yes. Free samples are available for Modern Garden’s exterior composite cladding, allowing you to look at the colour and finish before deciding which option works best for your project.

Where Can I Get Help Choosing Composite Cladding?

Our team can help if you are unsure which cladding range is appropriate for the area you want to cover. Call us on 01695 557711 or email us at info@modern-garden.co.uk to ask about the products you are considering.
